When I am in front of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, I am learning to resist my urge to immediately reach out for my camera and shoot.
Instead, I try to wait, to take time to observe and feel the moment, and aim to pass on that ‘feeling’ to my images.
Slowing down has shown that different moments have their own ‘spirit’.
I have curated my images based on the predominant emotion, the energy that the moment conveys to me.
